The first International Conference on Gigapixel Imaging for Science, sponsored by the Fine Foundation, was held November 11–13, 2010 at Carnegie Mellon University. This conference gathered 250 scientists from a diverse group of fields and institutions who are pioneers in the use of gigapixel imagery. The conference also included a juried gallery show of large-format printed gigapans at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
